Lucinda's Bio
My father was an avid hunter jumper. My earliest memories are of wanting to be big enough to ride a horse. When I was 5, I climbed up a fence and got onto the back of a 16 hand Warmblood--bareback. My dad got me Ebony Joseph when I was 6 and I trained and competed until I was 15. After raising my family (sound familiar?), I decided to really learn Natural Horsemanship.
I've participated in more clinics than I can count, read everything I could get my hands on, and spent a lot of time working with horses. I've learned that the very HARDEST way to train a horse is through pain and intimidation. I've also learned that groundwork is the key. Natural Horsemanship is so successful because we use the same body language and visual cues that horses already know. Even though the training techniques look gentle, horses want to know who's in charge- and it's GOT to be the trainer. Once this is established, training is like learning a language--drills and repetition--with lots of encouragement along the way.

Angela’s Bio
I was born and raised around horses. May family bred and raised Quarter Horses. Both my parents were horse trainers. My stepfather was a horse trainer, a farrier and a saddlemaker.
I started my first horse when I was 11. I worked at a Peruvian Paso ranch for 3 ½ years, starting in my senior year of high school. I worked there full time after graduation until, for health reasons, the ranch owners had to sell all their horses. While working at the ranch my duties included helping to foal-out 12 brood mares each year, halter training the foals, groundwork and starting the 3 year-olds under saddle.
I began showing horses in my early teens and competed in halter showmanship, trail, English & Western. I also competed in team penning for 4 years.
I worked with a reining trainer in California for eighteen months. I was responsible for tacking up, warming up, training, cooling down, untacking, grooming, graining and attending to soreness and injuries.
